After nearly 20 years, Fergie acknowledged a glaring mistake from one of her most iconic songs.
Too Much star Megan Stalter recently spoke to MyRumors about her new London-set romantic comedy series, which premieres July 10 on Netflix, and the “very crazy” experience filming a promo video for the 2006 single ‘London Bridge‘ with the 8x Grammy winner on the actual eponymous bridge.
“Fergie is literally so amazing. She is so sweet,” raved Stalter. “I would literally start crying watching her, and I would be like, ‘you are so in your element,’ like I’m seeing literally a bright shining star. I was also really tired because we started early, so I was very sensitive and emotional, but I also think even if I got any sleep, I would still feel this way. Then I would tell her that, and she’s so present that she’d start tearing up, and she’s just so amazing and she loves too much.”
Following the original video, which was infamously shot around the much more aesthetically pleasing Tower Bridge, Fergie got it right this time as Stalter acknowledged in the video, “This is the bridge that everyone’s making a big fuss about? It smells like piss.”
“Yeah, now you see why we didn’t shoot here originally,” the Black Eyed Peas alum noted. “And I’ve been paying for it for the last 20 f—ing years.”
Fergie also praised Stalter for joining her in the video. “I can’t believe I got to do a second music video for this special song almost 20 years later, now with the superstar goddess queen @megsstalter,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Stalter told MyRumors that Fergie’s ‘Clumsy’, which appeared alongside ‘London Bridge’ on her 2006 debut studio album The Dutchess, “was me and my gay boyfriend’s song in high school and so I would be like, ‘That’s our song.’”
“So it was very crazy,” she added of working with Fergie. “I can’t believe we got her to do it. She looks amazing.”
Too Much stars Stalter as Jessica, a New Yorker who moves to London after a disastrous breakup and sparks a romance with musician Felix (Will Sharpe). Co-created by Lena Dunham and husband Luis Felber, the series is inspired by the couple’s love story.
