CAA Signs ‘Succession’ Composer Nicholas Britell


EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed 3x Oscar nominated and Emmy winning Succession composer Nicholas Britell.

The composer, pianist and producer counts several Emmy noms, not just for Succession, but also the Disney+/Lucasfilm series, Andor as well as Barry Jenkins’ Underground Railroad for Amazon Studios.

Britell worked with Jenkins on his Oscar winning Best Picture Moonlight as well as If Beale Street Could Talk.

Succession is but one Britell collaboration with director Adam McKay, their previous credits including the Oscar winning The Big Short, Vice and Don’t Look Up.

Other compositions include Netflix’s The King starring Timothée Chalamet, and Disney’s Cruella.

Beyond his scoring work, Britell has carved out a unique niche as a songwriter and producer, collaborating with artists such as clients Ariana Grande, Florence + The Machine, and Bon Iver, as well as Pusha T, Christina Aguilera, Sara Bareilles, and Kid Cudi.

The composer also launched his own record label, Lake George Music Group, with the Succession season four album marking its first release.

A Steinway Artist, he has performed his music with world-renowned orchestras; notable appearances include London’s Barbican Hall with the London Contemporary Orchestra, Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the San Francisco Symphony’s Soundbox series.

Britell is also passionate about education and mentorship; he shares his expertise through speaking and masterclasses at institutions, including Juilliard, Harvard, Columbia, NYU, USC, and the Eastman School of Music. The composer’s commitment to fostering creativity extends to his role as the Executive Creative Director of the Juilliard Film Scoring Lecture Series.
